My duties in this job were simple; I was hired to be the organizer, the manager, the voice of quality control for ongoing projects. I've also acted as a sales rep at times, and enjoyed it immensely. My passion, however, as someone who works directly under the owner and president, is to help my superior find and follow his inner compass and craft a vision for the company which lines up with his passions and values. Thats the part that makes me come alive.

I gad been working within the organization for a number of years when they rectuited me for this, my first managment position. It scared me to death, but I created my own job description, set my own goals for my part of the organization, and said yes. I used my inside-out knowledge of the business' inner workings to theorize, pitch, and impliment numerous creative solutions to our problems. I created training programs and taught them, and spearheaded a project for cataloging our parts inventory, as well as our in-house salvage yard. I dreamed up ways to organize all our ongoing projects, both our internally focused ones and those for our clints. Then, of course, I handled the day to day running of a department, the organization of work flow and the care and feeding of my colleagues hearts, souls, and minds. It was a lot of work and it was a lot of fun.
