I am an aspiring biologist, with a focus on wetlands and amphibians. With a background in Natural Resources Conservation, I am passionate about ecology, citizen science, and community building. I am an enthusiastic and hard working person striving towards a career in the non-profit sector to bring positive change in my community and protecting local ecosystems.I spent 4 years with the BC Wildlife Federation as a Field Technician for the Southwest Pod in the Watershed Team. In 2021, I helped launch the Wetlands Workforce project as an assistant in the new year and was transitioned to working outside in wetlands as a Field Technician for the summer and fall season. For my stage 3 project, I created a weekly community cleanup to bring the community together and to educate others on the impacts of litter on the ecosystem.Outside of my paid work, I enjoy spending my free time volunteering for other environmental organizations. I spent 5 years volunteering for the Stanley Park Ecology Society doing various wildlife monitoring such as beavers, salamanders, stream invertebrates, birds, bats, etc. I have also volunteered with the Invasive Species Council of BC collecting information on native and ornamental species for their PlantWise program which encourages gardeners to plant alternative species with similar characteristics as desirable invasive species. I am currently volunteering my time as a mentor for the UBC Forestry Tri-Mentoring Program and the Canadian Conservation Corps to help guide and share my experiences with younger professionals. I also spend my free time as a board member for the Institute for Multidisciplinary Ecological Research in the Salish Sea (IMERSS) and an executive member of the Coro Galiano Community Choir.
