Ken served as a Program Instructor for NEK/Cubic Corporation; an internationally-recognized, leading provider of highly-specialized virtual training system solutions for the U.S. Military and our Allied Partners. As a trusted program lead, he was charged with facilitating cyclical training in both formal classroom and remote field environments for client organizations; instructing up to five, 6-week courses-- divided into lesson blocks based on client-specified scope of work agreements. In addition to coaching and mentoring students to ensure topic fluency and comprehension, Ken additionally, evaluated students throughout the training lifecycle to assess overall performance from a qualitative and quantitative perspective. Since his hire, Ken has earned recognition from corporate leadership as a trusted subject matter expert and is often sought-out to provide consultation to clients while developing new areas of training content based on evolving “real-world” military requirements and emerging threats.

Bagram, Afghanistan

Based on his success as a member of the A-T mobile training team, Ken was promoted to the role of Operations Manager for A-T’s Freedom of Maneuver Program where he managed the execution of a complex operational training program geared towards the Afghan National Army as well as regional Law Enforcement Officers in coordination with the U.S. Special Operations Forces and NATO Special Forces. In this leadership position, he oversaw a team of A-T Instructors tasked with facilitating two-week instructional courses on explosive hazard awareness, mitigations, and site exploitation as well as a supplementary 15-day train-the-trainer course. Ken not only drove business development initiatives by promoting U.S. Government-funded training solutions with U.S. Special Forces Supervisors in-country, but also coordinated all high-level logistical activities to include the planning and synchronization of air movement throughout the country for eight training teams, associated equipment, and requisite supplies. He additionally prepared detailed reports for weekly and monthly senior leadership review; providing status updates on operational metrics to both government and corporate stakeholders representing the U.S. and multiple foreign countries.

Afghanistan

In 2013, Ken was recruited to serve as a Senior Instructor and Mobile Training Advisor for A-T Solutions; a global consulting firm specializing in capacity building and stabilization; critical infrastructure; expeditionary logistics; integrated security and information management solutions; and enterprise-level technology product/software implementations. In this role, Ken served as a tactical expert on a specialized mobile training team of three in Afghanistan; traveling throughout the country, with minimal external support, to conduct training on the identification, mitigation, and elimination of counter-IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). In less than 5 months, the team was able to train over 100+ geographically-dispersed military professionals; most notably, earning corporate recognition as a unit that employed regionally-specific training tactics that further enabled “student” teams to navigate, manage, and survive highly-dangerous scenarios.

Afghanistan

In 2012, Ken was selected to serve as a Field Facilitator and Threat Accessor for SAIC; one of the world’s premier technology integrators in the technical, engineering, intelligence, and enterprise IT sectors. In this role, Ken independently conducted complex threat vulnerability assessments for numerous U.S. entry control points in eastern, central and northern Afghanistan. Over the course of his tenure, Ken formulated comprehensive security designs, submitted plans for government approval, managed equipment acquisitions, coordinated international transport services, and oversaw the installation of on-site, multi-touchpoint security systems. He additionally served as the operational conduit between 3rd party installation contractors and U.S. unit representatives and trained staff members on the new security program. Most notably, Ken was specifically chosen by the SAIC Program Manager to lead the installation of the U.S.’ largest vehicle and pedestrian entry control point in Afghanistan which is still in operation today.

Immediately after transitioning from the U.S. Special Forces, Ken secured an Independent Contractor position with NEK where he was responsible for instructing coursework on highly-specialized topics to students representing the U.S. Special Operations Forces. He routinely coached students on program content and evaluated their performance to client-specified goals and objectives.

Fort Lewis, Washington

After returning from Afghanistan, Ken was selected to oversee a classified training and operational readiness program under the directorate of the U.S. Special Operations Command. In this leadership role, he managed and justified a $15M program budget; collaborated with Headquarters staff to deconflict and coordinate training logistics for multi-day field exercises; and project-managed a high-profile facility/program relocation project concurrent to maintaining “business as usual” student training schedules

Fort Lewis, Washington And Afghanistan

In 2004, Ken served as a Regional Operations Manager based at Fort Lewis in Washington State. After deploying to Afghanistan, he was responsible for providing weekly briefings to the Commander of the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force; advising on U.S. Special Forces operational activities within the eastern region of the country. He additionally, coordinated advanced military operations and intelligence engagements with senior members of the U.S. Joint Staff and allocated operational resources to both support and secure mission success.
