If you’ve seen the 1999 sci-fi thriller “The Matrix”, then you already understand part of my story. The main character in the movie, Neo, must choose between a comfortable dream world and a real world that is full of new challenges. Why would anyone leave comfort for the unknown? Just like Neo, I was curious about the other world. In my corporate life I always wondered how things would differ with another company mission or vision. So, when my business unit was divested, I decided not to stay with the new company. I took the red pill (as well as my engineering and leadership skills) and moved to the world of entrepreneurship. I have grown my business from 3 items to 1.8 million packaging and industrial supplies. I have spent my career perfecting these skills:1. Helping others recognize their own value and inspiring them to flourish2. Driving the innovation of new products and services3. Making processes more efficient, then standardizing the new process4. Creating strategy to scale up from an idea to large volume productionThe global pandemic shutdown gave me time to do some reflection. I realized that my skillset contributed to a successful career. But moving to the entrepreneurial space means that I can help my customers and employees reach their goals while I am achieving my own vision.
