I am a farm kid at heart that loves to see things grow. While I did not wind up farming for a living, I knew from an early point in my career that I wanted to find ways to enable farmers to grow more with less, just like I was taught. A few years of being a research assistant led to a love for plant breeding and analytics, which then led to a PhD in plant breeding, genetics, and statistics. After getting my PhD I found my core strength of connecting business and technology in ag.Working in industry and academia over more than two decades has given me the opportunity to see what works well (and not so well) for leading teams, building analytics tools, and making things work. Just when I was moving towards following my dream of starting a business, I was lucky enough to reconnect with my cofounders and form Crop Convergence. We all share a passion for using the latest analytics technology in the most practical, boring ways possible. If it means that teams work together better, companies are more profitable, and fewer resources are used we are all over it.
