Character. Leadership. ServiceThese three traits come directly from the Daniels Fund Program. I've had the very humbling opportunity to become a Daniels Scholar in 2015 which lead into multiple roles as a member, ambassador and representative even upon graduation. Three traits are seen to be critical in selecting Daniels Scholars and this is where my foundation truly was adapted. I have actively tried to find different words to focus on besides the three listed above but I always end up back with them as the root of it all. Simplifying the bigger picture is important to me but I believe that these three attributes blanket anything that may come up or define what an individuals, students, and athletes should be striving for in their journey through my programs and teachings.Teaching the “why” and being open about my own “why’s” will help those in the program come to terms with their “why”. As a teacher, one of my philosophies is “everything is with a purpose”. There is purpose in what we do and if I have no idea why we are doing something, then we are better off not doing it at all until we figure out the purpose!In my free time, I enjoy traveling to the Pacific Northwest, participating in outdoor activities such as paddleboarding and kayaking, and watching the WNBA! I have a high interest in Sport Psychology and everything that it entails and through this, have started journaling my on multiple different topics that essentially consist of confidence, leadership, and being our authentic selves.
