I am the co-founder and sole owner of an engineering firm. We focus on rural land development, permitting and compliance, and engineered designs of the sacred interface of earth and water.I strive to keep fresh and clear my vision of our physical world - underlying spirits and forces of nature entwining with human devices and structures. This is why I am drawn to water and especially wastewater treatment, where we use naturally optimized processes to turn black and grey water clear again. We humans cannot do a better job at this than the myriad systems of bacteria and microbes already do. We have just learned to sequester the different processes, aerobic or anoxic for example, into separate vessels to speed or slow the action. We create comfortable conditions for the bugs, then let them do their thing. It is fascinating, and thinking about it keeps me connected to earth and all her creatures.At work you can find me keeping abreast of the latest in the cannabis regulatory environment, designing ponds for water storage, or advising clients on ways to keep their watershed environments healthy. I have had the privilege to work with many of the people and communities in Humboldt, Mendocino, and Trinity counties. I am passionate about protecting the natural environment, although I realize that the planet is resilient in many ways, and I like to find environmentally considerate solutions that also support inevitably expanding human populations. I get excited for new innovations and technologies in the this industry, and I hope to gain experience in my career to contribute to the way we treat and move water and use land into the future.
