As the Active Transportation Planning leader for California, Kendra worked with her GHD colleagues to develop innovative active transportation and complete streets plans and corridor studies for local and regional agencies throughout the state. At Alta, Kendra managed a variety of active transportation projects throughout California, including Active Transportation and Safe Routes to School Plans for municipal clients, active transportation program development and implementation, and Transportation Demand Management Plans. She wrote successful Active Transportation Program and Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant applications for clients in northern California and the Inland Empire.

Conducted project evaluation for roadway projects statewide and provide guidance on bicycle and pedestrian accommodation best practices. Provided training and technical assistance to NCDOT, regional planning agencies, and municipal staff to ensure that bicyclists and pedestrians are accommodated. Managed project selection for federal funding under the Strategic Transportation Investments process.
