Housing, healthcare access, and the reduction of poverty are essential elements of social justice, and striving to address these problems can contribute to the development of a more equal and just society. I am dedicated to providing services and education to underrepresented groups, ensuring they can live safely within our complex legal system.In my current role at Refugee Children Center (RCC), I coordinate and manage various resources within our Legal Resources Offices. This involves collaborating with legal aid agencies, pro bono attorneys, government entities, and community groups to ensure efficient service delivery. I support children and parents seeking asylum, and assist members of the immigrant community with immigration applications.Key responsibilities include:Fostering positive relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and empowerment.Managing administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, scheduling appointments, and tracking outcomes to ensure timely and appropriate assistance.Working closely with legal staff and volunteers to streamline service delivery and address logistical challenges.Planning and providing informative classes on topics like Know Your Rights (KYR), Asylum Overviews, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS).Supporting asylum seekers in completing declarations for Form I-589, Application for Asylum or Withholding of Removal.Organizing immigration clinics and supporting participants in preparing immigration application forms.My goal is to continue expanding RCC's network of pro bono and low-bono immigration attorneys, supervising staff and interns, and creating impactful reports for grantors and donors. I am passionate about advocating for vulnerable populations and working towards a more just society.
