About Kendra Schmidt

As a highly motivated Biomedical Sciences Master student, I am excited to make a significant contribution to scientific breakthroughs especially in the field of immuno-oncology to surmount current burdens in disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.During my Bachelor studies "Biomedical Sciences" I developed an unstoppable passion for laboratory work, scientific thinking and problem solving. In my current major I have had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in molecular oncology and tissue engineering, which has fascinated me the most until now. I have completed various internships in the field of CAR-T cell therapy, ocular in vitro 3D test systems and most recently bead-based cancer vaccine development for CRC patients at the Karolisnka Institutet in Stockholm. These achieveemnts in combination with my theoretical background and laboratory work experience have strengthened my personal qualities such as performance under pressure, curiosity, reliability, team spirit, time management and hard working with an independent, structured and accurate work mentality.I strongly believe that our research is essential to leverage the full potential of today's scientific resources and knowledge in order to improve humans health conditons worldwide.
