I have been a certified surgical technologist for 19 years. I absolutely love my profession and I love helping others. I have been teaching the next generation of surgical technologists for seven years and enjoy education immensely. Every day is a learning day and I hope that a day does not go by that I am not learning something from someone. I am active in the Arkansas state assembly for the Association for Surgical Technologists and currently hold the office of Secretary. Previously I have been on the Board of Directors. I know that our field needs more recognition in the country and in the medical field and as surgical technologists, we need to be the voice. We need to stand up for ourselves and our patients.
