I use parametric optimization models to string together multidisciplinary CAE tools to explore design spaces, quantify trade offs, develop response surfaces, and ultimately find multi objective optimum. We also support descriptive modeling and requirement cascade as ancillary functions of our role.

Ford has started several innovation teams in the last few years as they transition into a mobility experience company. Unfortunately - there are growing pains with such a big change and sometimes the innovative ideas and products are not adopted into the normal work streams. My new roles is to try to fill the gap between the special innovation teams and BODY ENGINEERING. I seek out idea 'seedlings' and help with quick paced engineering development and business case health for these ideas. Our methods include design thinking, customer clinics, rapid prototyping, and agile development.

Design and Release Engineer.Responsible for the early program development work of all sheetmetal components in the doors for a forward model Truck program. Key understanding of manufacturing, attributes, and appearance are essential to delivering a optimized design that both technically performs and delivers customer expectations - and my role was highly collaborative with these different skill teams. My biggest sense of accomplishment during this role was changing the trajectory of the program, resulting in: $10 VC save, ~$20 quality improvements, and ~4M of tooling efficiencies.

Ford College Graduate (FCG) Program, 2014-2017.As part of the 32 month rotational program, I functioned under several rolls:Core Engineer, 2014 - 2015. Core lift-gate systems project looking at balancing NVH and customer attributes during the design phase of the program through correlation of physical testing and CAE. Predictive Dynamics Modeling of multiple closure systems considering body dynamics, interface components, build variation, and design uncertainty.Launch Engineer, 2015 - 2016.Decklid System Engineer for the Lincoln Continental 2017. Role involved significant testing, system studies, and quick problem solving for time sensitive issues. Innovation Advocate, 2015-2016.PD innovation thought leader. Worked in a highly multidisciplinary team to determine what pain points exist in the innovation process at Ford. Worked to design, test, and implement new digital tools to improve innovation. PMT, 2016. Early Vehicle Program PMT. Focused on program deliverables through the early stages of a program through interaction with basic design, studio, and marketing. Stamping, 2016.Die Processing and Feasibility Engineer. Working with AutoForm to improve the stamping execution, feasibility, and processes design for vehicle program that are pre-prototype stages. Handles, 2016-2017. Core development of handles for new model vehicles. Managed the technical development of the parts as the studio surface matured. Also supporting several side projects including quality and cost reduction initiatives.

Engineering Intern. 2013Advanced Development- Fabric Care.I innovated the lint trap filter by considering consumer science, sensorial inputs, user experience, and engineering constraints in a cross-functional design team. Additionally I ran fluid/thermal science studies on gas dryers. Engineering Intern. 2012GPO Cleaning-Dish-Structures. I worked on tub seal gaskets and latch mechanisms for whirlpool corp. dishwashers which involved studies ranging from benchmarking, DOE for a quality issue, data test procedure standardization, as well as consumer clinics to better target customer expectations.

Optimization of energy systems for both military applications and for community microgrids in developing countries. Work involved energy management - balancing usage profiles with grids including energy storage and energy creation devices.
