As Epson’s Chief Legal and Sustainability Officer, I am responsible for overseeing legal matters and environmental/sustainability programs in the U.S., Canada and Latin America that impact Epson's business and broad portfolio of consumer and commercial products. As CLO I oversee all legal matters including legal support for commercial transactions, marketing and sponsorships (LPGA), compliance, labor/employment, litigation, corporate governance and brand protection. As CSO I am responsible for development and implementation of strategies to integrate sustainability principles into Epson’s business as well as environmental regulatory compliance. I am a member of Epson America’s executive team, compliance committee, audit committee, culture committee and focused giving committee. Experienced legal executive responsible for a broad range of legal issues affecting developing, manufacturing, marketing and selling WD desktop, mobile, datacenter, digital video and branded products worldwide. Accountable for WD’s legal function in the areas of strategic OEM, distribution and retail customer agreements and other commercial and technology transactions; branded product development, licensing and product regulatory matters; trademark, brand protection and anti-counterfeiting programs; patent portfolio development, invention disclosure policies, patent filing strategies; copyright/open source policies and procedures; and advertising legal review and policies across traditional and social media platforms. Expertise in legal and antitrust issues affecting pricing and distribution policies. Leads a global team of attorneys.
