Research Analyst
CurrentResearch and provide analysis and recommendations related to complex public policy issues at the local government level that have arisen from constituents, council meetings, or individual Council Members; analyze existing or proposed programs and operations at the request of council members; summarize findings with recommendations. Staff standing committees, subcommittees, and task forces of the Urban County Council; consult with committee chairs to develop agenda and identify presenters, assist with meeting arrangements, assemble and distribute committee meeting materials, prepare final committee meeting summaries, and maintain committee websites. Facilitate and staff Committee of the Whole (COW) meetings. Utilize legislative software (Granicus/Legistar) to enter and approve legislative files, and publish agendas and meeting packets. Facilitate live meetings by running legislative software (Granicus/Live Manager) to record minutes and motions; prepare and distribute meeting notices, council committee packets, and council work session packets. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, council meetings, standing committee meetings, and other meetings as necessary. Act as liaison between the LFUCG Administration and the Urban County Council Office. Schedule off-site meetings, tours, and other events as necessary. Serve as open records custodian; respond to constituent and media requests for information related to Council business. Monitor Council web pages for accuracy and update information as needed. Serve as backup purchasing and inventory coordinator. Serve as backup payroll coordinator informing staff of training, timekeeping, benefits, and important deadlines. Serve as backup personnel coordinator for processing personnel actions, job postings, new-hire paperwork, and onboarding employees; develop job aids for new employees.
