I am a writer, researcher, and advocate with expertise in food and agriculture, sustainability, and public health. I am currently the Deputy Director of Science at Friends of the Earth where I lead work on agroecology and regenerative agriculture. I have worked on environmental health campaigns at Physicians for Social Responsibility, Health Care Without Harm and Breast Cancer Action and as a lecturer at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University. I have also apprenticed on organic farms in Hawaii and California. My work has been published in The Guardian, The Nation, Gastronomica, Environmental Politics, Civil Eats, Ecowatch and Food Tank. I received a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Miami University of Ohio and a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from UC Berkeley.
