Builder of things -- both physical and digital. While at Meta, I tackled the tremendously scaled, product-driven work to help nonprofits grow and improve outcomes for people and the planet. I worked with the largest nonprofits in the US and the UK, helping them raise hundreds of millions of dollars. As Meta's Social Impact Ecosystem Partnerships Lead, I switched gears to democratize access to fundraising solutions. I was embedded in the Meta Charitable Giving Product org, and within executive teams at nonprofits and social impact tech providers, and was proud to leave with $7 billion raised for causes across the globe. At the end of 2022, I launched a boutique motel in the Hudson Valley. It was a labor of love (emphasis on labor) over the last 1.5 years to open up the Reclaimed Motel, which seeks to make second-hand second nature as a design and lifestyle sensibility. I appreciate a good stretch, and opening a technology-forward motel has been just that. Transitioning from one rigorously good operational business to the oftentimes messy construction and hospitality space has offered a crash course on what's suboptimal with hotel management software, and why it makes sense to step in as General Contractor.A year at a financial start-up called Step gave me the chance to focus on building a Partnerships function from the ground up, and learn a ton about youth and financial literacy. Did you know that only 15 states introduce financial curriculum in schools? Gen Z and Gen Alpha are the next generations, and thankfully technology like secured cards, credit reporting, and daily money tips are accessible on their phones.Now I'm at Thumbtack, which feels like the happiest culmination of tech and construction that have been consistently intertwined - personally and professionally - over the last 14 years.
