Kendra Riley is an entrepreneur who founded Dawning Public Relations in 2013 and helps businesses from coast to coast raise awareness for their brands on a local, national and international level. The team's specialties include public relations, social media management and community relations – and combined bring over 150 years of experience to the table. It wasn’t until the height of the pandemic in 2020 that Kendra would need to do PR for herself, after two of her three daughters were diagnosed with an extremely rare disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). Just one was able to receive a life-saving treatment – since she was not yet symptomatic. So the Rileys put their lives on hold to fundraise hundreds of thousands of dollars in a month’s time to move the family across the globe to Milan, Italy in order for their youngest daughter Keira to become the 32nd child in the world to receive a cutting edge gene therapy treatment. She is now living the life of a normal 3-year-old while her sister Olivia is enrolled in Hospice of the Valley. Inspired by her daughters and motivated to help other families like theirs, Kendra has since become a rare disease advocate by speaking at global conferences, has helped multiple families across the nation get the same life-saving treatment as her daughter, has been the inspiration of new research in the newborn screening space and also helped pass Right to Try 2.0 in Arizona, which she has spoken about on national and international stages.
