I led end-to-end design and delivery of a number of AI products for SEEK’s employment marketplaces, building a high-performance team of eight that created a robust, maintainable and horizontally scalable machine learning ecosystem. Key initiatives included design of DeepMatch, a Deep Learning based candidate-to-job matching algorithm, and subsequent delivery of the Top Applicant feature which became visible to candidate and hirers using SEEK AU & NZ web and mobile apps. I actively built AI literacy across SEEK’s developer and product manager population, designing and delivering courses that reached hundreds of attendees. In addition, I established the Melbourne Deep Learning Practitioners’ Forum, a cross-sector initiative that grew an active member base from companies and tertiary institutions.

I joined Telstra to drive the adoption of predictive analytics at scale, building on the new Big Data platform established within the Chief Technology Office. My focus was on experience personalisation for the mass market consumer, extracting insight from sources that have previously been out of reach to traditional technologies and techniques. My team worked on the full cycle of insight generation from hypothesis formation and data gathering, through feature engineering and model training, model scoring, integration to channel and results measurement.

As a Director within the Decision Science & Analytics practice, I worked with leaders of major financial services, fintech, and telco organisations, to transform their businesses through applied analytics and data-driven decision-making.I was instrumental in shaping new practice offerings around advanced analytics, big analytics and operational analytics, and played a key role in developing the Deloitte DS&A brand across the region, as regular sponsor, host, and speaker at industry events.I was instrumental in creating and selling the practice offerings around for clients in FinTech, financial services, e-commerce and telecommunications.

I led design and implementation of core customer analytics foundations, including data stores, toolsets, partners and internal capability within Marketing. As Head of Customer Experience, I was responsible for competitor analysis, market research, data analytics / modelling, digital marketing and campaign analysis, with results driving marketing spend and distribution strategy.

I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at one of the US’ premier research institutions, as a member of the team pursuing technological breakthroughs in the hardware required for large-scale quantum computation.
