Laboratory Technician
CurrentReceive patient samples and sort and prepare them for processing. Perform RT-qPCR on received patient viral swabs to test for the presence of virus. Perform LC-MS/MS on received patient urine samples to test for the presence of drugs of abuse or their analytes. Perform studies to develop new testing options for clients or verify accuracy of testing results. Maintain detailed records of all performed patient testing and research studies. Prepare reagents for use in testing, and perform quality control testing on all prepared and received reagents. Perform troubleshooting on all faulty equipment and failed testing to determine and resolve areas of failure. Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
