Program Director for the Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology: Software Development.Designed, proposed, and launched a new applied bachelor's degree in software development that seeks to solve one of the tech industry’s toughest challenges: the lack of diversity in its hiring pipeline. Underrepresented minorities including women, Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans, combined, account for less than a quarter of all tech workers. South King County and Pierce County, Green River College's service area, has both the most diverse population in the state and a highly concentrated veteran population, all of which need access to high-wage careers. Working together with partners like the National Science Foundation, our local school districts, and our neighboring community and technical colleges, our program at Green River College is recruiting students, many of them in low socioeconomic status, and producing a new, diverse generation of college graduates with the technical knowledge and communication skills to fill high-demand, high-paying tech jobs in our region.

Project Engineer (team lead, software architect) for E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Tactics Trainer instructional systems, which included a tactical scenario database, tactical scenario generation system, mission brief/debrief system, common aircraft/ship sensor/emitter database, and a common map system. Led a team of software developers through the full software development lifecycle on a $750K project that was part of a $26M program. Worked one-on-one with U.S. Navy project engineers, research psychologists, and naval flight officers (NFOs) to build user interface software and to build up tactical databases. Coordinated with subcontractors developing the flight trainers, web-based courseware, and learning management system to design shared components and software interfaces.Developed and integrated the instructor station, FLIR emulation, RWR emulation, and a simulated sensor operator’s console for the U.S. Navy MH-60R/S Seahawk Weapons Load Trainer and Mission Configuration Trainer. Responsible for development of the instructor stations for the E-2T (Taiwan) Hawkeye 2000E Tactics Trainer.

Developed web- and CD-based courseware for the United States Department of State's Foreign Service Institute. Worked on joint teams with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and system administrators to design, build, and deploy courses for users located throughout the world. Worked with standards providers to develop the first series of SCORM-compliant integrations with learning management systems and Section 508-compliant accessible courses for the organization.
