Kikwetu Foundation is a youth and women-focused non-profit organization based in Nairobi that empowers disenfranchised youth and women in Kenya to live a purposeful life by tapping into employment opportunities and mentoring them to become skilled entrepreneurs and artisans. As Chairman, I help to:-Provide charismatic leadership to inspire the Board to execute its governance functions.-Develop and implement the Foundation’s mission, vision, and purpose.-Set priorities and create agendas for meetings of the Board.-Preside over meetings of the Board.-Serve as an ambassador of the organization and advocating its mission to internal and external stakeholders.-Enhance the Foundation’s image, reputation, and public standing.-Provide proper financial oversight.-Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability.-Ensure that the Board has approved policies to help ensure sound and compliant governance and -management of the organization.-Partner with the Board to recruit staff and volunteers.-Partner with the President/CEO to lead the development and refinement of impact metrics-Assess the performance of the Board and its committees-Partner with the Director to help ensure the Board’s directives, policies, and resolutions are carried out.-Work with the Director in cultivating and soliciting major foundation grants, funds, and individual donations.-Coordinate annual performance reviews of employees and volunteers.

KenStar Events & Adventures is a premier events management company that primarily specializes in providing an executive Tours and Travels package, facilitating local tourism and exciting travel adventures across Kenya. As the CEO, I am responsible for the following:- Providing executive leadership over the firm.- Implementing and coordinating firm activities and operations to ensure that they run smoothly. - Creating new, exciting and creative KenStar packages, events and activities in line with current travel trends.- Developing and implementing strategic plans that ensure the sustainability and growth of the firm. - Overseeing the development and execution of the annual Marketing Plan.- Representing KenStar at relevant local and international forums, and discussions with customers, trade partners and other relevant stakeholders. - Operating budgets, overseeing timely and accurate financial reporting, and monitoring and reporting of the financial performance against budget and agreed targets.- Hiring, supervising, and overseeing new staff- Networking with potential partners.
