During unprecedented times, UMass Amherst created opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community members to stay safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Beginning in January 2021, I began my employment with the university's Public Health Department in patient registration and COVID-19 testing procedure. During the Spring 2021 semester, I worked part-time, ranging from 10-15 hours a week while balancing a full class schedule. I then applied to remain employed during the summer months and have been promoted to full-time.The position's obligations include:-Entering patient information into the specified database.-Abiding by HIPPA.-Ensuring patient care through a thorough explanation of testing procedures.-Active communication with patients.-Continued research and education on COVID-19 pandemic and state and national protocol.

During the busiest part of the retail year, I was employed at Vans as a seasonal retail associate. I was fortunate enough to be awarded associate of the month for December 2020, nearly doubling my anticipated sales.During my employment at Vans, my obligations included:-To ensure the safety of customers and employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This included sanitizing frequently used areas such as benches, registers, credit card machines, etc. In addition, each employed were instructed how to properly maintain social distancing and follow COVID-19 protocols while maximizing sales.-Provide exceptional customer service at all times.-Supply educated advice on shoe and apparel products based on the customer’s desires. For example, a customer with a passion for skateboarding would be advised to purchase shoes and clothing more fit to that sport as compared to BMX products.-Creating a safe and work-conductive environment for fellow employees and customers.-Well trained in diversity and inclusion.
