Retired from managing technology and six sigma projects and programs that varied in size from small to very large in a variety of environments. I used my skills to do everything from help build better spacecraft to help sell women’s clothes with a half dozen other industries thrown in. Best job was manager of Quality Data Systems at Lockheed Martin Astrospace where I could walk out on the shop floor and touch things that would go into space.I am now focused on working with non-profits that help young people find their way into STEM and project management careers. I now serve on Board of Directors of PMI-DVC as the President. I have previously sponsored and managed the project that engaged PMI-DVC with the Philadelphia Future City Competition. I also initiated and managed the Academic Council that engages with individuals who teach project management and the Projects in Your Future initiative that gives college students a view into the paths to becoming a project manager and the challenges and rewards of a career in project management. I am Passionate about the Future City Competition where I have been a volunteer since 1996 and on their board since 2001. As a space geek since the days of the X-15 and project Mercury, I also volunteer with the Planetary Society and Mars Society. I am an avid runner and fitness geek. I have finally started winning races for my age group summer of 2021. I did that in two 5K races, mostly because there was only one other runner in the 70+ age group and I was faster than he was. I felt a little bit bad because it was the same guy in both races. I love hikes in the woods especially in the mountains.
