Was recruited by Microsoft Research's advanced technologies group to work on Jim Kajiya's Talisman Graphics Architecture. Our project, Appelles, is a functional language based media description language and animation engine. I was responsible for Appelles' digital media (audio, video and realtime) capabilities. I worked for SGI's ASD (Advanced System's Division), home of SGI's big iron multiprocessor machines and the fastest computer graphics and also ESD (Entry System's Division + other colorful names) home of the Personal Iris, Indigo, Indy and much of the system software. In this small SBIR based company. I was responsible for creating the software infrastructure for our custom designed signal processing products.
