In addition to facilitating already existing courses, I am developing a series of interactive, leadership courses to enrich adult volunteers and give troop leaders a set of resources that they can use with their troops.

Quality Site Lead• Team leader for all Quality Assurance personnel at the Herman Miller (HMI) Van Wagoner site• Primary point of contact for customer and supplier quality issues• Leader and/or participant on cross-functional teams to address quality issues, correct materials issues, and validate systems, which improved reporting, reduced scrap, corrected bill of material and/or drawing issues, and streamlined processes (such as the process for the ordering of steel which eliminated all paperwork)• Designed and/or customized databases for HMI which solved many process flow issues and reduced the time required to complete those processes by as much as 95% (50%+ on average)• Assumed the Train the Trainer role for new Microsoft Access projects and EtQ based databases

Note: Even though my role changed to Quality Site Lead, my title never did. • Received ISO 9001:2000 Internal Auditor training that enabled me to lead the QMS and quality audit program so that the Van Wagoner site was reregistered and had exemplary audits while I was the Quality Site Lead• Administered the QMS databases (Document Control, Quality Records, Corrective/Preventative Action, Calibration, etc.)• Suggested numerous database design changes to EtQ, of which virtually all became permanent additions to the software so as to benefit all of the users of the software, not just HMI• Became the “go to” person for systems issues and new requests at the Van Wagoner site, which resulted in: became back-up to the Administrator of the Corporate Quality Systems; served as tester of software upgrades prior to implementation with no implementation failures; and designated as the resource for difficult or highly customized database design requests• Was responsible for all design changes, issues, upgrades, and testing of the HMI ECO database• Designed an electronic Quality System Audits database, with linkages to the other QMS databases, to store audit data and provide electronic notifications, signoffs, and escalations which replaced a paper reports in notebooks process and greatly improved turnaround time for the completion of audits• Created a reports database that enabled all team members, from management to production team members, to run reports based on user-defined parameters (date range, department, shift, etc)• Assisted the implementation of a new ERP system at 4 sites (Baan and Rhythm Resource running in tandem with the HMI Mainframe) as the requested trainer, quality subject matter expert, and a bill of material expert• Developed a safety database with automatic scoring which became the pattern for numerous other scored databases at HMI

• This role was done concurrently with being a trainer and the Quality Assurance Information Specialist• Administered the Environmental Management System (EMS), which enabled the Van Wagoner site to be recognized by the State of Michigan as a “Michigan Clean Corporate Citizen”• Received ISO 14001 Lead Auditor training which enabled the EMS program to be findings free (compliance and ISO audits) while I was the leader of the program• Enhanced the EMS databases through design changes and the addition of features which enabled the transition of the program, aspect, and objective’s data from separate site spreadsheets to a single data storage solution• Performed Environmental Audits in keeping with various compliance requirements and procedures• Managed the EMS programs for the Van Wagoner site• Monitored existing and new aspects, making sure all personnel affected were aware of the aspect and its specific disposal requirements

• Was the trainer for the Quality Assurance Department of the Spring Lake campus, concurrent with all other quality and environmental roles• Trained throughout the corporation on databases I designed, such as the Engineering Change Orders (ECO) database• Developed and/or customized training programs as needed, such as, but not limited to: Blueprint Reading, Visual Inspections, Using the ECO database, QMS Overview and Database Use, and ISO 9001:2000 Internal Auditor
