Worked as a journalist in Wellington - started at the Evening Post in January 1962 - then in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand (in Television and Magazines), over a 21-year period, covering news and current affairs, special interest programmes, including a time as Aviation writer, editor and correspondent, as well as a reporter/presenter on Science Express TV programme, including a month reporting from the Antarctic. For a time in Christchurch edited two magazines Topic Air (on aviation safety) and Villa (all about homes and gardens, travel & books). Still works as a journalist, now based in Singapore, contributing to various publications around the world and editing/publishing four online magazines: ABC Carbon Express (since 2008), The Art of Travel (previously called The Avenue for Creative Arts), Focus on Forests and Ocean Outlook. Contributor to many other magazines, in print and online, including: Panels and Furniture, Wood in Architecture, Food & Beverage Asia, Asian Journeys, Singapore Institute of Directors’ Bulletin, Wood Central, RenewEconomy, World Furniture Online, Eco Business, ASEAN Post, Manifold Times, Millionaire Asia, ANZA Magazine, Expat Choice, New Zealand Chamber and Print Singapore.
