Ken is an experienced NC State alumni in computer engineering and graduated in May 2018. Ken has completed major programming projects, experience using wide range of languages and diversified background with extracurricular commitments.Ken completed a senior design project sponsored by Doggett construction company, collaborating in a team for two semesters. The first semester consisted of initial market research, specifying project requirements, analysing design alternatives, and determining a project schedule.The team then developed a user-interface program in Visual Basic, combining an intuitive GUI with a unique data structure system and PDF file importation and exportation. The finished program allows users to copy a blueprint into the program, manipulate the walls and panels, and returns building instructions and an inventory list. Ken also completed a project to make a remote-controllable and self-drivable small car utilizing an MSP430 microcontroller. The car was a central project for NC state’s Micro Embedded Systems class. The project required both hardware construction and software manipulation, using parts including IR LEDs and IOT modules along with C language. The finished car can be controlled using wifi, and can self-control itself over a black line.Ken is excited to expand his experience in the computer engineering field, connecting the boundary between hardware and software.
