Profile bio

About Kenia Lozada

Masters of Public Health focusing on Behavioral Sciences and Health Education Sciences from Emory University. My current research interests are child and adolescent mental and emotional health and immigrant populational health. At Rollins, I was a graduate research assistant to a NIMH-funded study and in March 2023, we presented the study's findings at the SOPHE conference in Atlanta, Georgia. While pursuing my MPH, I worked full-time as a case manager supervisor at a federally contracted facility that aims to reunify unaccompanied minors with their family members in the United States. My work experience has given me insight into federal immigration policy and as well as government processes. Deeply interested in working in research that promotes children and adolescent wellbeing. Experience in managing multiple projects at once and committed to providing results

Lead Case Manager

Georgia, United States

I manage and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team dedicated to the overall wellbeing of migrant youth we receive from the Office of Refugee Resettlement. I receive updated policy and guidelines to implement among a hybrid team of on site and virtual case managers, clinicians, and other care support members. I create, analyze, revise team workflow to best fit policies, procedures, federal timelines, and the benefit of the team. I supervise and monitor staff performance and actively support personal development of my case management team. I lead weekly staffings where all members of the care provider team are present to provide information and updates to the assigned federal agent, third party case coordinator, and central field specialist. I frequently communicate with organization's stakeholders and government regarding case progress and submission deadlines. I elevate cases to government review when needed or when additional support is needed.
