I am currently enrolled at Lord Fairfax Community College pursuing my Associates of Applied Science Degree in hopes of becoming a registered nurse following graduation. Nursing has always been something I've been passionate about. Interacting with people, learning their stories, and being exposed to the many different ways of life is very interesting to me. My very first nursing job was in a nursing home and I enjoyed every moment of taking care of the residents and being able to adapt to their world whether they were oriented or still living in past times. I've gone through the process of being a direct care aide, certified nursing assistant, certified clinical medical assistant, and now trying to obtain my registered nursing license.Nursing is something that requires you to be able to function in an always changing environment and a fast paced environment. I have found that I thrive better in environments that are fast paced and require you to think quick on your feet and be able to take initiative. My end goal is to be a nurse anesthetist as well as a pediatric nurse who specializes in holistic care. While it seems very contradicting to want to be someone who specializes in administering medication as well as someone who wants to use natural remedies rather than medication, they both interest me.
