My role partners across the business in the planning, development, and execution of Brightcove’s strategic internal communications for employees, executive engagement, and overall company messaging for executive leadership, human resources, recruiting, training and development initiatives that cross all Brightcove’s global regions.

Responsible for supporting communications for the People (Human Resources) team. This role brought a strategic perspective to writing across employee and candidate communication channels and constantly evangelized the many ways PitchBook supports its people while ensuring employees had the information they need to be successful.

Led internal communications for high growth startup making an impactful difference in the trucking industry. Created programs and processes to build and scale internal communications initiatives for leadership and key company stakeholders to educate and reinforce the company values, mission and culture to employees. Served as a member of the People (HR) leadership team as key counsel and drove communications programs and tactics for complex topics including employee engagement, return to work and DEI initiatives.

As head of internal comms, I managed internal communications though a variety of channels including a daily intranet and employee events, as well as providing counsel and expertise with all levels and areas of the company. Primary writer and editor for all internal communications. Managed employee engagement and community outreach programs, in addition to select public relations tactics as a spokesperson.

Managed and executed several programs for the world's third-largest manufacturer of construction equipment, filling roles in public relations, advertising (development and buying), internal communications, and sales communications. My love for speaking into a microphone continued as the host for the aptly named "The Morning Show with Ken” every weekday morning playing hits and lost favorites in the blue and jazz genres. I then had to graduate college and move on from the student-operated station.

In this year-long role, I managed the entire news and public affairs programming and operations for this college radio station. After a programming overhaul, the news and public affairs were cited as one of the reasons the station earned an unsolicited “Best Radio Station in Bellingham” honor from the local media. I was also recognized as a Student Employee of the Quarter for my work at the station.

This seasonal position had me covering high school sports events and writing feature stories for the 60,000+ distribution county newspaper. In addition, I also contributed to daily prep sports briefs and community recreational sports updates.

I managed both day and night shifts including restaurant operations, staffing and inventory control. Sure, It was a job I held during high school and my early college years, but I was promoted to Supervisor within nine months of employment, and to Manager three months after that while still maintaining a full class load.
