Recruited to Zynx after multiple successful engagements as a ThoughtWorks consultant. Led integration efforts, created the foundation for an integration with a Government Involved Health Records System. This was a first-of-its kind software integration effort to create a common and modernized a set of medical terminology that affected the entire industry. Software Integration/Architecture· Designed, architected, and co-wrote entire integration coordinating approvals from a wide range of stakeholders.· Continued working with Zynx to execute on issues cited in the ThoughtWorks Architectural Health Assessment. Led a wide range of projects that sowed the seeds of cross-department knowledge and collaboration. · Leveraged modern technologies and practices to bring the teams forward into a truly Agile team environment. Stakeholder Communication & Management· Led the effort to expose a legacy medical-content data model through a new RESTful API in partnership with multiple vendor-partners who were writing API access into their on-hospital-site EMR software. Additionally, advised Zynx’s participation on the Board of Health eDecisions to form industry-wide standards for API integration.

Served ThoughtWorks as an Architect, Developer, Agile Coach, and Developer Trainer, with over ten years of diverse experience utilizing a broad range of technologies in business, web, client-server, and enterprise environments. He also has extensive background in a variety of implementation styles, from Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) (both WS-* and RESTful), Rich Client Platform (RCP) applications, Rich Internet Applications (RIA), standard web applications, heavy network-control scripting infrastructures, and even some medical device drivers and interfacing. While he is heavily steeped in standard enterprise technology stacks (Java and .NET), he has also worked in a variety of other language sets (Bash Shell, Korn Shell, Perl, Python, TCL, Ruby, Objective-C, and the like). He is exceptionally adept at architecting and solving multi-platform, multi-technology integration problems, guiding disparate components into a cohesive system, and with utilizing Agile development processes (XP, Scrum, etc.) to do so. He has worked in a plethora of domains, from telecommunications, to logistics, to real estate and finance, to network automation testbeds, to medical devices in an FDA regulated environment, and even non-profit arts venue management. CareLink Online Personal is a web application that interfaces with various Medtronic and other vendor blood glucose meters and pumps, storing all collected data in an online database that generates various reports for patients and medical professionals, for treatment and clinical trials.- Being under FDA constraints, there is high-demand for audit-trails of code changes and code reviews. Automated their in-house manual report-tracking and report-generation process, and helped clarify and tighten up the process specification documents. Implemented driver and application support for Johnson & Johnson LifeScan UltraMini Blood Glucose Meter. Worked on initial design efforts to migrate monolithic applet and Struts architecture to more appropriate J2EE components, including EJB, JMS, and JPA. Made numersous refactoring design recommendations, with accompanying design docs and prototypes.

· Was the driving force behind getting a fledgling companion product (Configuration Manager) working up to the high-reliability demands (upwards of 95% reliability) of Edentree customers. · Stabilized and finished a system that stored and restored full system hard-drive images (both single-drive and mirrored) for Solaris servers over fibre-channel fabric, and for Linux and Windows servers over standard Ethernet networks, via automation. This system utilized JBoss, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Ksh, TCL, Expect, and Quartz, and was integrated with the Python product using Web Services over XML-RPC. · Led a critical effort to design and develop a distributed test management system prototype. This system utilized a .NET/mono code base that was ported to Java, and had distributed branching test-flow execution logic (which required generation of user interface metaphors to manage this). · Delivered a viable prototype that leveraged Eclipse RCP application technologies fronting a JBoss/Hibernate/PostgreSQL based system, had a coherent data model, supported XML Schema Documents, and had SSO/Login functionality.
