In 2015, I was asked to join the Burr & Forman law firm as a partner in its Nashville office. This move has allowed me to expand my practice into additional areas given the expanded practice areas of the firm as well as additional offices in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Delaware and Alabama. At Burr, my experience includes the following particular matters:•Serve as national counsel to the nation’s largest release-of-information medical records processing company in the defense of class action litigation. •Defense of motor carriers in numerous lawsuits throughout the Southeast in cargo damage litigation on issues which include: ◦federal Carmack Amendment preemption of cargo damage claims (2012 WL 174937, 2009 WL 3152195, 504 F. Supp. 2d 1213, 2006 WL 1469416) ◦limitations of liability in cargo damage claims, EFS National Bank v. Averitt Express, Inc., 164 F.Supp.2d 994 (W.D. Tenn., 2001).

In 2012, I was asked to join the Nashville office of Stites & Harbison as a partner in the commercial litigation department. During this time, and given the expanded footprint of the law firm in Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana and Virginia, I expanded my practice throughout the Southeast, including litigation in Tennessee, South Carolina and in Florida.

Chattanooga, Tn, Us

In 1999, the Trabue firm merged with Miller & Martin PLLC. For over 14 years, I worked as a litigation partner in the firm and expanded my law practice into the Southeast given the offices of the firm in Chattanooga and in Atlanta, Georgia. Specific matters in which I was involved while at Miller & Martin include:•Dismissal of cases against bank for violation of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and the Home Affordable Modification Plan (2012 WL 1977946, 2011 WL 6888530). •Successful prosecution of non-solicitation claim on behalf of bank against former registered representative before a FINRA arbitration panel. •Defense of a national recycling facility with an Oak Ridge, Tennessee location in appellate litigation involving the manufacture of nuclear hazardous waste casks.

I began my legal career at the law firm of Dearborn & Ewing in 1987. When that law firm disbanded in 1992, I engaged in a solo practice for two years until I was asked to join the long-standing Nashville law firm of Trabue, Sturdivant & DeWitt.
