Engineering Supervisor - Protection And Control Design Lead

As an Engineering Supervisor - Protection and Control Design Lead, I supervised the design group out of the Charlotte office. In addition to my supervisory responsibilities, I managed and led large protection and control design projects for two high profile customers for the office. I also assisted in the creation of a drafting and design training plan which would help develop the drafting and design team for the organization.In 2008, I joined Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) as an Engineering Intern. My responsibilities as an intern involved wiring panels, conducting coordination studies, creating and/or updating relaying one-lines, communication diagrams, logic diagrams, AC/DC elementaries, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. In 2010, I accepted a full-time position at SEL as an Associate Engineer. After successfully completing multiple projects and amassing more responsibilities, over the next several years I received three promotions (Engineer I, Engineer I - Lead, Engineer II - Lead). As a Lead, I supervised a team of designers, drafters, and interns, and completed the SEL Engineering Development Program (EDP). From my experiences at SEL, I grew and developed in the project management, project execution, and supervision areas.Summary of Duties:-Supervised the design team out of the Charlotte office-Managed and executed multiple large protection and control design projects-Created relay logic diagrams and settings for microprocessor based relays at a distribution substation-Designed protection and control schemes involving breaker failure, transformer differential, overload, load relief, load stripping, as well as alarming and transformer monitoring-Provided commissioning support at multiple substations -Completed several training courses including transmission line and substation relay testing, project management (PSMJ), situational leadership, growing SEL leaders, and crucial conversations
