Production & Quality Engineering TechnologistAt our facility in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, the heart of the fuel cell system, the fuel cell stack, is manufactured in a state-of-the-art production plant. At the German locations in Nabern and Untertürkheim, the entire development of fuel cell systems and their final production, including testing, takes place before the systems are handed over to the customers. Alongside stacks, the core components of the technology, additional subsystems have been developed for the purposes of energy conversion. In 2005, the company's systems business was the subject of a takeover by DaimlerChrysler and Ford as part of a joint venture. The predecessor of the Daimler Truck Fuel Cell, the Mercedes-Benz Fuel Cell in Nabern (formerly Ballard Power Systems AG) was assigned the task of developing series-ready fuel cell drive systems. In 2009, Daimler AG acquired Ford Motor Company's 50% share in Mercedes-Benz Fuel Cell. The Mercedes-Benz Fuel Cell was a 100 % subsidiary of Daimler AG and a global leader in the development of fuel cell and hydrogen storage systems for vehicle applications. Because of Daimler Truck AG's strong commitment to fuel cell technology, it was decided in 2020 to combine all group-wide fuel cell activities in one organizational unit in order to lead hydrogen-based technology more focused and efficient to success. For this reason, since August 1, 2020 all fuel cell-related activities have been bundled in the Daimler Truck Fuel Cell, which in turn is a 100% subsidiary of the Daimler Truck AG.

Production & Quality Engineering TechnologistLocated in Burnaby, British Columbia, the Mercedes-Benz Canada Fuel Cell Division (MBFC) opened in 2012 and has subsequently played an instrumental role in the global commercialization of fuel cell technology. Since its inception, MBFC has been manufacturing Fuel Cell Stacks samples (prototypes) and was the first automated automotive facility dedicated to the production of fuel stacks and sub-assemblies, as well as to the advancement of fuel stack production technology. Within MBFC, the Common Fuel Cell Program (CFCP) is focussed on further refining its manufacturing processes with the goal of reducing production costs. It is also playing a key role in the implementation of the next Fuel Cell Car Series by Daimler.

Established in 2008, AFCC Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation is a Burnaby, B.C. based joint venture of Daimler AG and Ford Motor Company developing fuel cell modules for automotive applications.- Maintain and support the Quality Systems within the Metrology Lab and Rapid Prototype Facility- Identifying and describing non-conformances for Supplier Quality- Liaise with Supplier Quality Engineers on supplier visits regarding non-conformances to discuss immediate corrective actions and long term preventive measures- Sub-assembly processing and stack assembly, leak testing components and completed stacks- Testing of CCM and GDL materials- Evaluate and perform monthly EHS audits for the Quality Lab and the Rapid Prototype Facility- Manage and perform all inspections for Engineering prototype investigations and verification projects- Successful implementation of ISO 9001:2015 certification- Familiar with Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) traditional five core tools , Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Product Part Approval Process (PPAP)

The Quality Lab was established in late 2009. Co-created the Quality System within the Metrology Lab with a small but effective team of Quality Technologists and Quality Engineer. - Our goal was clear, create and develop a world class Quality Department to Daimler's standards- Purchased all new equipment and tools, implemented 5S as layout was configured, and created a LEAN Quality environment for IQC (Incoming Quality Control) for production parts- All processes were mapped, SOP's created, SIPOC's documented and implemented which created an opportunity to be creative, while supporting continuous improvement activities- Training of Engineering Co-Op students which included monitoring and reviewing their projects and activities- Inspected all incoming prototype parts to drawing requirements- Coordinated yearly calibration of all tools within the Quality Lab and the Rapid Prototype Facility

QuestAir was a developer and supplier of proprietary gas purification systems for the biogas and industrial hydrogen sectors. A merger between QuestAir Technologies and Xebec Adsorption was completed in June 2009.Lead the Quality Lab and engaged in ISO 9001:2008 internal audits and calibration of all inspection and manufacturing tools and gages.

Océ Display Graphics Systems (ODGS), a Canon Group Company, develops and manufactures cutting-edge digital printing solutions for the fast growing wide format visual communications market.As the sole Quality entity within the company I was tasked with running the Quality Lab, investigated non-conformances with suppliers, and guided the Material Review Board.

While my lead role was within Quality, I was asked to direct Logistics tasks during a time of corporate uncertainty.
