Data Engineer

Had a 1 year internship at PPG Industries, it was a fully Work From Home experience, there I had learnt about Microsoft Azure Cloud services and most of it features.Learnt most about SQL as I had a project that involved migrating an app from QlikView to Power Bi, the codes were written in Azure Databricks, then had to load the data into Power BI.Had learnt about SSIS and SSRS, beginner-level knowledge as most of the time I used SSIS to load monthly data into the database.Learnt about the responsibilities between Data Engineer and Data Analyst. Both have different roles. Data Engineer is the one preparing the data and the app/dashboard. Data Analyst is the one making sure that the dashboard/app is going into the right direction, directing data engineers - giving them the right direction.Assisted in a big project - Global Account Receivables - the goal was to create a Power BI Application to show PPG's Global Account Receivables, but PPG has different ERPs and a lot of branches across the world. The data is keyed-in with different formats depending on the branches. I created the mapping files to identify the data and transformed the data required in this project, from different ERPs, all into a standardized format, so that PPG can use those data readily in different project next time. For Global Account Receivables, I have also performed Gap Analysis between the legacy applications - as each ERP had their own Power BI application already, so when the new Power BI application is in UAT, I had performed Gap Analysis between the new one and the legacy ones to make sure there is no missing features. I had also performed Data Validation for this project.
