➢ Observe and document the ED provider/patient encounter using the EMR ➢ Assist providers by obtaining past medical history and tracking results from labs, radiology and EKG’s ➢ Call outside pharmacies and facilities to obtain and rectify patient records ➢ Utilize a working knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy/physiology, pharmacology, and medical testing in order to accurately document ED charts

➢ Provide leadership to scribes while promptly responding to time sensitive issues, such as staffing changes, IT programs, and conflict resolution ➢ Enforce policies involving absenteeism, scheduling, and competency through remediation or terminating employees when necessary ➢ Conduct interviews, hire, and train all new scribe applicants ➢ Lead group and individual meetings to review chart quality and individual metrics while also providing continuing education materials for employees ➢ Collaborate with the administrative scribe manager and medical director to develop long and short-term objectives for the scribe program
