About Kenneth Baldwin

Just to provide a little background, I have 15+ years experience in the CAE industry, 12 in management . My career began at PDA Engineering, later acquired by MSC Software. Initially, I wrote software for the PATRAN program, a Finite Element Pre- and Post Processor. I wrote and enhanced element editing and meshing. Shortly after starting at PDA, I was promoted to Sr. Manager working on the next generation version of PATRAN, P3. I was responsible for all application development, including Geometry, FE, Loads and BCs and post-processing. Later, after the merger between PDA and MSC, I was promoted to Sr. Operations Manager, Technical Support Americas. 80 Support engineers reported to me (10 directs), most with advanced engineering degrees. I instituted a support process using Siebel, and a distributed telephony system to provide the best customer support experience.I also started my own company, GoingMobile where I developed handheld applications for Public safety inspections. I installed and supported a system in the Oceanside Fire dept. here in Southern California.Recently, I have been working under contract as a software engineer at Toshiba, Cisco, Divx, Thales and I am currently at Microsystems In Irvine.I still am writing software as a hobby. I am working on a program to characterize the topology of a solid for meshing purposes.Specialties: C++ GUI QT Geometry Graphics embedded linux
