Perform the set-up, calibration, tuning, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies; determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams; tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems; will complete rework instructions on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing; prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommend solutions to technical problems; may assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment; performs work of moderate complexity.

As a Fire Controlman, I was a maintenance technician involved in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Fire Control equipment such as the MK 15 Phalanx Baseline 1B Block 2 Close-In Weapon System and the MK 31 Mod 3 Rolling Airframe Missile System.

As the Departmental Electronic Equipment Liaison (CSOOW), I am responsible to the Department Head to act as a coordinator for maintenance, aloft, and the daily Combat Systems Department. I also act as the go to for any issues the technicians may report. When receiving such reports, I am required to act expeditiously to coordinate technicians to resolve any major issue and report all issues to the Department Head as they appear.

As a Maintenance Technician Supervisor, I was actively involved in the scheduling and assigning of corrective and preventative maintenance on Fire Control equipment in the US Navy. These equipment involved the MK 15 Phalanx Block 1B Baseline 2 Close-In Weapon System and the MK 31 Mod 3 Rolling Airframe Missile System.As a Maintenance Technician Supervisor, I was required to be knowledgeable in my equipment and became the Lead Subject Matter Expert and had a maintenance accomplishment rating of 98% operational capability.

Responsible for equipment and personnel assigned to the Combat Missile division. Responsible for maintaining status of equipment and reporting all casualties, initializing and configuring equipment to support current operations, initiate appropriate fault detection/fault isolation tests upon failed indications, be aware and help enforce radiation hazard restrictions in effect.As Action Area Supervisor, I was required to take immediate action to prevent cascading casualties, assign and direct personnel to test, maintain and configure equipment and direct casualty control.
