First, I am currently living in the city of Baltimore however, I am looking to relocate to the Fort Lauderdale area in February. . Prior to moving to Baltimore I supervised a successful title and closing office in Johnston Rhode Island. During the peak of this offices’ business we were able to handle up to 50 closing a month from start to finish with a staff of two (myself included) and a subcontractor closing attorney who conducted closings outside the office. I performed the title reviews, interacted with the brokers, buyers and lenders, prepared the packages, HUD-1, documents including deeds and some private mortgages, prepared title commitments and policies and handled all final disbursements and recordings. On some occasions I would also conduct the closings. During this time I was also a title agent for Chicago Title. Currently I work for an attorney here in Baltimore whose practice consists solely of bankruptcy work. I meet with clients, gather all necessary documents and prepare the petitions both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 (including the plan) using BestCase. I file the petitions along with any appropriate motions and work directly with the Trustees on final discharge or confirmations. I also on many occasions attend 341 meetings. I am not looking to take the Florida bar exam and so I am exploring paralegal type positions. I find even with the position I have now I am very comfortable and enjoy working in the paralegal role. As you will see by my resume, prior to this current position I worked for the law office of Chaifetz and Coyle in Columbia, Maryland. There I focused not only on bankruptcy but foreclosure defense, loan modifications, mediations, short sales and deed in lieu negotiations. My goal right now is to obtain employment in the Fort Lauderdale area. Finally I consider myself to have a working knowledge of Spanish and I work every day on improving my Spanish skills to become completely bilingual.
