Supporting Glasgow Warriors to design and implement a new Community Strategy.

Responsible for the design, resourcing and implementation Premiership Rugby’s national community programmes delivering a range of Health, Education and Social Change outcomes. Managing a broad range of public, charitable and commercial partnership in order to create insight driven programming with a clear line of sight to organisation’s strategic priorities. Responsibility for Scottish Government investment in the delivery of national programmes including Active Schools, Physical Education Support, Community Sports Hubs, Positive Coaching Scotland & Competitive School Sport. Leading sportscotland’s strategic relationships with Local Authorities aligning national investment with local stakeholder priorities. As national lead for Competitive School Sport investment I am responsible for overall strategic direction, national implementation & monitoring of the project across Scotland. Key Responsibilities • Leading on the creation of Sports Strategy in three local authorities• Leading on National School Sport Competition investment across 20 authority areas • Analysis of monitoring data & review progress against measurable outcomes• Maintaining strategic partnerships supporting authorities to demonstrate contribution against Scottish Government Outcomes

Overall management of Glasgow Warriors Community programme including school & club rugby in the West of Scotland Working across 16 local authority areas I established and maintained formal partnerships with local & national stakeholders in order to achieve clear outcomes inline with National Strategy. Key Responsibilities• Lead the overall strategic direction for rugby development in the Glasgow region• Creation and implementation of Glasgow Warriors Community programme including player visits, commercial partnership commitments and match day activity.• Management of jointly funded development staff (over 60 FTE) responsible for achieving Scottish Rugby’s strategic objects of growth through the development of partnerships with a range of local stakeholders. Monitoring performance in accordance with agreed partnership Key Performance Indicators and best practice people management.• Creation of regional talent ID structure including agreeing & defining benchmarking criteria, coordinating testing programme, CPD for coaches and development staff, processes for player feedback. • Coaching Glasgow District representative squads from Under 15 – U18 including CPD for assistant coaches• Performance review meetings with partners & staff against agreed Key Performance Indictors and competencies• Liaison with Scottish Rugby colleagues regarding service delivery and implementation of national priorities locally (including LTAD, Key National Themes, Government Funded Programmes, Marketing and PR initiatives, etc.)

As a regional manager I established and maintained formal partnerships with a range of local stakeholders in order to achieve club and school participation outcomes inline with National Development Strategy. Key Responsibilities• Leadership and management of a Community Development team consisting of 14 Development Staff and up to 11 Modern Apprentices in accordance with agreed partnership Key Performance Indicators and best practice people management• Leading the delivery of UKCC coach education level One & level Two courses• Targeted coach mentoring & development • Delivery of specialist skills sessions (lineout, scrum, breakdown) • Member of working group leading on the creation of LTPD coach education resources Key Achievements• During my first 12 months in this role I grew the development team from 7 to 14 full time jointly funded development staff • Established Regional Development Groups in Argyll & Bute, Dunbartonshire, Glasgow and Lanarkshire• Successfully implemented national programmes e.g. Are You Ready to Play Rugby, Street Rugby, School of Rugby• Refined Development Staff remit inline with local priorities• Coordinated and delivered comprehensive Rugby Ready Practical & UKCC coach education programmes
