I’m Kenneth, currently a 3rd year student (last year) at the University of Manchester studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology. I’m writing this letter as I wish to seek graduate opportunities in fields centred around aspects of applied psychology. This includes environmental, traffic, sports psychology, and human factors. My passion in these subset of the larger psychological science field stems from the wish to combine my secondary passion in transport and planning with my current degree, which both have that human oriented factor. Psychology wishes to provide answers to human behaviour and mental processes. Transport or planning wishes to provide vehicles or third spaces used by human daily, with emphasis on efficiency and comfort. This requires a clear understanding of human processes and the mechanism behind the interaction between vehicles, machines and human. Thus, with the behaviour and cognitive knowledge developed through my undergraduate degree, I wish to apply a human centric mindset in fields such as environmental, traffic and human factor psychology. I would like to highlight some of my hard qualities and soft skills that I believe makes me an ideal employee in various environments. - 1st class grades for my 1st Year courses (including units on social psychology, cognition and statistical methods) - 2:1 grades for my 2nd Year courses (including units on research methods and statistics, personality and individual differences)- 3rd year units: currently studying organizational (workplace) psychology, political psychology and programming in 2nd semester- Units chosen based on understanding the multi-facetness of human behaviour and decision making, with real world application in various settings (especially the two 3rd year units) - UCL Urbanism Summer Courses: An intro in the contemporary environment with policy development, neighborhood regeneration with a specific human-culture oriented lense- Experience in the food service industry since high school taught me client and customer service skills, multi-tasking, time schedule management, importance of communication within a team and being flexible and adaptive to different workplaces- Fluency in 3 languages, and Conversational in 2 others which makes me a prime candidate for any international communications and I am thus equipped with a mindset of a “global citizen” ,considering cultural differences in business- Human Qualities: I am self-motivated, perseverance, flexible (work culture and physical environment), principled and punctual
