In high school I was motivated to get my CPR/AED and lifeguard certification and joined the YMCA team as a lifeguard and truly pushed myself physically and mentally for the first time. Less than a year later I took the initiative and after weeks of training and studying I became a youth swim instructor, learning on the job how to communicate to children and parents knowing how to relate my ideas to different age sets. After graduating high school I decided to join the Navy in December 2018 but was medically separated but during my short time in I was determined to push myself and I elected to be head yeoman, in charge of clerical duties for 150+ sailors, where I honed my communication skills and built interpersonal relationships between people of many different backgrounds and even languages. Since then I have been attending Pikes Peak Community College where I got my EMT training and even attended the fire academy here but now I am fully focused on the nursing program working towards my ADN.
