They work with claimants to establish their continuing eligibility for payment, assist claimants in filing for administrative appeals, adjudicate claims and authorize them for payment, provide referral services, and identify and investigate potential program abuse during the "On-The-Job" portion of this intensive 5 month course.

The Service Representative position in SSA, contributes to the Agency's mission through direct and personal service to the public. As the first point of contact, you are responsible for speaking with beneficiaries or inquirers in person or by telephone to provide information on SSA laws, rules and regulations. This includes obtaining information in order to determine eligibility and entitlement for programs administered by SSA, and using state-of-the-art computer technology to access and update information about claims. Service Representatives also interview beneficiaries and the general public to determine the nature of their problem; explain technical information, gather facts and resolve problems relating to Social Security programs.

I supervised, 7 instructors and 2 lab assistants in a medical program that offered 7 medical educational programs: Certificate in Medical Assisting, Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in Medical Administration: Medical Assisting, Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in Health Information Technology, Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in Allied Health and Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration. A key part of the education administration of the college, supervising and enforcing academic standards, rigor, and consistency. Responsible for resolution of all student issues within the medical academic program. Performs duties as Campus President as needed. Managed the largest medical department of 12 campuses. Meticulous management yielded 80 to 90 percentile job placement rate for medical students over my tenure there. The company also recognized one of the medical department’s instructors as “2012 Instructor of the Year” for the Alaska Region.

Various Air Force Assignments World-Wide

Provided leadership, guidance and mentoring to numerous military/civilian medical personnel in the Family Health, Internal Medicine, Pediatric, Surgery, Dematology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic clinics, Multi-Service In-patient, Intensive Care/Cardiac Care Units and Emergency Departments over a 25 year career. Managed medical personnel and resources that rendered patient care to military, retiree beneficiaries and their families. Managed day-to-day operations, activities of staff, created and executed millions of dollars in clinic budgets. Led strategic and long-range planning including fiscal and staffing concerns, as well as facility upgrade projects. Managed clinic resources and had direct supervision over numerous medical personnel. Directed nursing care delivered according to scope of practice standards and Joint Commission guidelines. Ensured training/seamless integration of all new clinic personnel with medical systems platforms. Mentored and developed staff career progression tailored to meet individual goals and career opportunities while meeting hospital objectives. Advised executive hospital administrative leadership on operational status, development, education and training of all personnel. Meticulous management of these departments were an integral part to earning numerous medical administration awards to include back to back 2007-2008 “Best Hospital in the Air Force” Awards and a Joint Commission accreditation score of 95 percent in 2009.
