About Kenneth Deville
I am licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Florida. I was on the faculty at the Brody School of Medicine for 31 years. During that time I published in the areas of healthcare ethics, law, regulation, policy and compliance. I taught in the school of medicine; public health ethics and law; scientific integrity; ethics and medical jurisprudence for physician assistants; and dental ethics. While on the faculty I served in various legal and regulatory roles including as director of the medical center institutional review board, the chief compliance officer for the university, the HIPAA privacy officer, and the director of risk management for the school of medicine. I have served as “of counsel” for 2 health law firms in North Carolina. I have been certified in healthcare compliance, healthcare research compliance, health privacy, and in mediation and have served as a mediator in various contexts. I currently provide legal defense through the state Indigent Defense Services.
