• Produce briefing materials for the Principal on external policy changes, and in advance of meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with the Principal and External Relations team to manage the University’s external reputation – particularly on matters of strategic importance and during crisis communications situations
• Monitor the political environment and produce proactive briefing materials
• Prepare drafts of written material, presentations, and speeches for the Principal’s major speaking engagements
• Represent the Principal at internal meetings and external engagements, including with MSPs/MPs, Special Advisers, Scottish Government and SFC officials
• Attend University Executive Board meetings and input into strategic and operational decision making processes
