Scan national and international research, development and commercialization bid opportunities and arrange for teaming and partnerships between the University, industry, state and Federal government agencies. Propose novel approaches to accelerate transition of GMU research to market. Propose and champion major healthcare initiatives which promote Mason’s biomedical research efforts at Prince William County campus. Mentor faculty, students and staff in entrepreneurship development and conceive and offer experiential courses on rapid commercialization and venture creation. Develop plans to launch businesses and arrange for teaming with small, mid, and large businesses to promote GMU’s research and translate such research into commercially profitable enterprises. Serve on the Project Management and Oversight Panel of the Virginia Biosciences Health Research Corporation. Introduce new grant and contracts mechanism based on successfully secured contractual vehicles through IDIQ, GSA Schedule, Task Order, Other Transactions, and emerging partnership agreements.

Develop and Commercialize diagnostic devices, mobile healthcare applications, and IT systems for healthcare and security applications in the areas of medical sensors, diagnostics and bioinformatics, drugs-of-abuse testing, food safety, biological defense, and rapid homeland security needs. Interconnected several proven biometric technologies into a realistic concept of operation to identify and track entries, exits and legal employment of individuals crossing land, sea and air ports. Adopt a strategy of using commercial off the shelf (COTS) assets, complemented with proprietary technology, if needed, to stage compelling technical demonstrations leading to rapid commercialization.
