Capital Project Management & TechonologyActs as liaison between the Project Management team and technical disciplines involved with large projects and is the primary point of contact for the management and coordination of all technical aspects of the project. Ensures that engineering is complete, accurate and constructible for all elements of a project’s scope. Oversees contractor’s engineering performance and coordinates all contractor and owner’s engineering interfaces in addition to ensuring projects are completed according to project construction drawings and in accordance with project specifications, quality and performance requirements.

Entergy’s point of contact for transmission customers, negotiating and administering the transmission service agreements, network operating agreements, and dynamic transfer agreements. Administering provisions of Entergy’s Open Access Transmission Tariff. Facilitating Transmission Customer requests for Balancing Authority changes and other dynamic transfer requests. Developing Facilities Studies to determine the scope, costs and Schedule. Managing and tracking Supplemental Upgrades constructed pursuant to Attachment T to Entergy’s OATT. Transition of Entergy’s OATT Service Agreements to MISO. Development and negotiation of Interconnection Agreements between the Transmission Owner and Distribution Owners/Load Serving Entities. Development and negotiation of Local Balancing Authority Agreements between the Transmission Owner and Distribution Owners/Load Serving Entities. Responsible for implementing the Transmission Business policies as related to the Entergy Operating Companies to assure comparability as prescribed by FERC.

Lead Designer of Transmission Line System 69 kV to 500 kV for Entergy, South Louisiana, with oversight and supervision of younger engineers and contract engineers. Work with Project Management and Construction group on scope, design, vendor selection and construction of projects. Tie substations and switchyards to generators’ step-up transformers at generation plants. Duties include scoping and estimating of all projects, design transmission lines, ordering all material needed for each project, working with construction group and other field personnel to insure in-service dates are met. Scoped and reviewed designs for approval on EPC projects in South Louisiana. Lead transmission line designer on Down-stream of Gypsy (DSG), Amite South, and Southeast Louisiana Improvements (SELA 1, & 2) projects. Worked together with Cleco Power and Lafayette Utilities System to upgrade transmission in Acadiana Load Pocket (ALP). Also worked on the largest underground transmission line river crossing in the USA, the Kaiser-Lower Coast 230/115 kV line. Worked on new CCGT generator at Ninemile generation plant. Member of the transmission line standards review group. Worked with Oil and Gas companies in South Louisiana on design , procurement and construction of new Substations for their Plants and facilities. Worked with Shell in NORCO Louisiana on new WESCO Substation, Valero’s upgrade to their Goodhope Substation in NORCO, Louisiana, Marathon Oil expansion in Garyville, Louisiana on their new Tezcuco Substation, ExxonMobil in Chalmette, Louisiana on their new Oaks Substation. Also worked on numerous electrical Substations for Gas pipeline pump stations in South Louisiana.

Design of Protection & Controls Systems for Entergy 4.1 kV to 500 kV Entergy system. Work with Project Management and Construction group on scope, design, vendor selection and construction of projects. Work with Planning group on load flow analysis and Relay Settings group on transmission and distribution system protection coordination. Duties included electrical control circuits and alarms, communications, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), and relay designs for both transmission and distribution systems. Worked on switchgear and open-air equipment in substations and switchyards.

Wrote, distributed and interpreted Transmission Line Standards, transmission line design guidelines, maintenance and construction guidelines, purchasing specifications, and materials standards. Selected material items for standards, catalogued materials in MMIS for universal stock code assignment, prepared tables of specifications and illustrations for stores catalog. Assisted with implementation of latest standards and materials with grid personnel. Coordinated with vendors for information on latest developments of standard material items.

LP&L/NOPSIResponsible for protective relaying and supervisory control systems. On site verification/modification of System Blueprints. Carry out outage requests for large industrial customers. Perform routine maintenance and evaluate test results for all substation equipment, using computerized relay testing. Handle all switching equipment in all substations and generation plants.
