Ken Lang grew up on a farm in rural Nebraska, and now approaching 4 decades of bench and jury trial experience has found how those rural beginnings have been a very large asset to his practice. After high school graduation, he left for college and the military starting with his admission to the U.S. Naval Academy followed by domestic and foreign assignments in the Army. This was the foretelling of his desire for travel and diverse experiences.Ken has tried cases to jury verdicts in the courts of 18 states including Alaska. The majority of the verdicts in those cases were favorable to his clients, and more than 80% of those cases involved defending manufacturers against claimed product defects. Appeals from some of those cases concerned the application of the laws of the U.C.C., product/strict liability, use of experts, and standards of admissibility. In addition, he has appeared in cases of an additional 20 states where successful settlements or dismissals were obtained.Ken’s clients have covered the spectrum from individuals to manufacturers of general aviation products, bathroom fixtures, gas controls, automobile passenger restraints, HVAC equipment, and a variety of camping and outdoor products. He has served his clients as local, regional and national trial counsel. Ken has also taken a 3-year “sabbatical” from private practice and was employed as in-house product liability counsel for a major aircraft manufacturer.His traveling when not in conjunction with his work is spent with his wife in their motorhome accompanied by their 3 dogs. Occasionally, that travel of necessity involves fishing, kayaking and hunting.
