I was a Cashier and Lot associate for the first year and a half of my employment. I later transitioned to a sales floor paint associate.My Cashier responsibilities included:-Running cash registers-Keeping the surrounding products organized and clean-Preventing product loss by providing excellent customer service-Handling customer returns-Releasing prepaid customer orders to them when they arrive to pick upMy Lot Associate, my responsibilities included:-Collecting the shopping carts left in the corrals-Cleaning the trash left behind in the parking lot and shopping carts-Collecting the trash from the trash cans before the store closes for the night-Responding to requests for loading assistance over 2-way radioMy Paint Desk Associate responsibilities included:-Providing detailed and relevant product information based on customer needs-Mixing paint-Maintaining the paint mixing machines by refilling tint canisters nightly and cleaning the canister housing monthly-Ensuring the shelves are fully stocked and organized-Moving pallets using manual pallet jacks-Breaking pallets down to restock shelves-Consolidating multiple pallets into one, wrapping, and marking for storage-Knowing the general location of all the products in the building so as to give accurate directions-Assisting the department in meeting sales goals-Identifying customers that buy high volumes of product and providing information about our 'ProExtra' services to improve store metrics-Preventing product loss by providing excellent customer service in our aisles and near the entrance/exit-Personally responsible for monthly checks of the 'Hazardous Waste kits' across the whole store, five in total. Missing material is to be promptly replaced and reported to the store Safety Team-Cleaning any hazardous waste spills using the kits

-Sanding wooden pieces to their final finished appearance-Removing rust and other blemishes from any metal being used-Staining any wooden and metal surfaces using interior wood stain-Sealing any wooden surfaces with polyurethane-Teaming up with coworkers to move anything in the warehouse. Avg weight was 50-70lbs. but could be as heavy as 200lbs and sometimes even heavier-Organizing the multiple material storage areas-Prepping pieces for shipping-Loading pieces onto trucks for shipping
