With a background in pure and applied chemistry I have eight years experience within AES, specifically in the area of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) as required by the COSHH regulations. As General Manager, my role is diverse - ranging from administration to on-site working. Increasingly my role is becoming more focused on the occupational hygiene side of the business, including carrying out personal sampling surveys, providing consultancy to clients and ensuring that, as a company, the systems we install provide adequate control of exposure to hazardous substances. I hold the BOHS accredited qualifications in testing and commissioning of LEV systems (P601, P604), and design of LEV systems (P602). I also hold the P603 qualification in Personal Protective Equipment and the International W501 qualification in Measurement of Hazardous Substances.I am currently working towards achieving the BOHS certificate of competency in control of hazardous substances.During my time at AES I have tested hundreds of LEV systems and commissioned many new systems including carrying out proof of control effectiveness by means of personal sampling.I have also designed LEV systems to control hazardous substances including: Dust dust produced by milling of grain Flour and enzyme dust in bakeries.
